Bol Jamoore - the street theatre festival organised by CRY (Child Rights and You), India's leading child rights organisation, commenced in Kolkata for the sixth consecutive year. The festival took place recently in December with 24 teams participating and comprised children and adults from all across who believe in child rights.
Open-air performances were staged across the city and the festival concluded with a seminar among the participating members.
This theatre festival is meant to spread awareness about child rights among all of us. Spread over three days, this festival revolves around one central theme: child rights. This year, volunteers from Dum Dum, Sodepur, Howrah, Santiniketan, North 24 Parganas, Ashoknagar, and Jharkhand, came forward jointly to spread the message.
The children and youth from CRY projects, schools, colleges and corporates performed through skits and highlighted the issues of child rights.
